Horween Leather Co needs no introduction. The world renowned tannery in Chicago has been around since 1905 and the formula for this particular leather hide, the Chromexcel (or simply known as CXL) has been largely unchanged since 1913. The CXL is a combination tanned leather that undergoes at least 89 separate processes taking 28 working days and utilizing all 5 floors of the tannery's facilities.
Our strap in CXL's popular whisky colour is fully stitched with contrasting M30 linen thread then edge painted with matching colour for extra sealing and protection. There is no breaking in required on this strap, it is soft and contours the wrist well from day one. It is a classic pull up leather hide which will develop a lovely patina as it ages and is extremely durable if taken proper care of.
The inner lining is made from smooth Zermatt leather from Tanneries HAAS in France, the same type of lining commonly found in Hermès bags. The strap is paired with our signed exclusive manufactured buckle in 304L steel.
